CLIENTS SERVED: Eligible U.S. service members currently deployed to combat, humanitarian, or limited-resource areas.

DESCRIPTION: Provides morale and practical support to eligible deployed U.S. service members through a nationwide network of volunteers. Deployed service members can register for support programs intended to maintain connections with home throughout their deployment.

PROGRAMS/SERVICES:

• Deployed Adoption: Matches deployed service members with volunteers who provide ongoing letters, care packages (snacks, personal items, requested supplies), and encouragement during their deployment. Add-ons to this program include:
  • Angel Bakers: A monthly care package of homemade baked goods catered to the servicemember preferences.
  • Chaplain Support: Provides military chaplains with monthly care packages, letters, cards, humanitarian needs, religious items, and the opportunity to request special projects to support holidays.
  • Special Operations Forces Support: Provides monthly care packages specifically for Special Operations Forces personnel and units who are deployed. Packages contain essential items (hygiene products, coffee, and laundry pods), and high-quality protein and food items. Leisure care items to help decompress (sports equipment, books, magazines, puzzles, and games) may also be included. Special celebrations for Holidays throughout the year may be sponsored.
  • Support for Expectant Spouses: Sponsors a Virtual baby shower to provide items and services to assist a deployed servicemember’s spouse who is expecting a child.
  • Holiday Support for Families: If deployment extends through the December 25th Christmas Holiday, each child will receive gifts, and each family will receive a grocery gift card to fund a holiday meal. Eligibility may be restricted based on rank and income
• Request a One-Time Card: Provides letters and cards of encouragement to deployed service members, including those waiting to be matched with an ongoing volunteer.

• Eligible deployed service members, their spouses and families, can register online.
• Requests for a Virtual Baby Shower should review the program information and eligibility requirements before applying online.
