DESCRIPTION
Provides early-intervention and educational services for young children who are blind or have low vision, as well as support and education for their families. A family can refer their child directly, or a child may be referred by a doctor, school, or other professional. Services include evaluations, in-home visits, vision-specific instruction, orientation and mobility services, resources, and preschool programming.

Early-intervention services are available statewide in both Indiana & Kentucky, while preschool-age services and specialized center-based programming vary by location, with the most extensive preschool programming available in Louisville, Kentucky.

FREE PAIR OF PRESCRIPTION GLASSES
VIPS families who are currently receiving services are also eligible for a free pair of prescription glasses through VIPS’s partnership with PDS Optical; this can be especially helpful for children whose prescriptions change frequently or who outgrow, lose, or break their glasses. Services are provided regardless of family income.
